Instructions for Authors

The is a peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated exclusively to the publication of systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and narrative reviews in medicine and biomedical sciences.

The journal is published biannually (June and December). All manuscripts must be original, written in English, and prepared according to the standards of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. General Requirements

  • 1.1 Manuscripts must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere.
  • 1.2 Submissions are accepted only via the online submission system [link].
  • 1.3 All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two experts.
  • 1.4 Each submission is screened for plagiarism using https://antiplagiat.ru/ (acceptable similarity ≤20%).
  • 1.5 Authors must disclose conflicts of interest, funding sources, and acknowledgments.

2. Manuscript Preparation

2.1 Title Page
  • Concise article title (≤100 characters).
  • Full names, institutional affiliations, and ORCID IDs of all authors.
  • Contact details of the corresponding author (name, email, institution, postal address).
  • Author contributions (CRediT taxonomy).
  • Funding information (if applicable).
  • Acknowledgments (optional).
2.2 Abstract and Keywords
  • Abstract length: up to 250 words.
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses: structured abstract (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions).
  • Narrative reviews: unstructured abstract.
  • Keywords: 3–6, selected from Medical Subject Headings (MeSH).
2.3 Text Structure

For systematic reviews and meta-analyses:

  • Introduction (succinct, no subheadings).
  • Methods (eligibility criteria, databases searched, data extraction, risk of bias, statistical analysis).
  • Results (study selection, characteristics, outcomes, pooled analysis).
  • Discussion.
  • Conclusions.

Authors must prepare systematic reviews and meta-analyses in accordance with PRISMA guidelines.

For narrative reviews:

  • Introduction.
  • Methods.
  • Discussion.
  • Conclusions.
2.4 References and Citation Style
  • Vancouver style. References numbered consecutively: (1), (2,3), (4–6).
  • ≤6 authors → list all names; ≥7 authors → list first six followed by “et al.”
  • Include DOI numbers where available; journal titles abbreviated per NLM Catalog.

Examples:

Reference limits: Systematic reviews — minimum 30; Narrative reviews — recommended 40–60.

2.5 Tables and Figures
  • Each placed on a separate page after references.
  • Figures: minimum resolution 300 dpi (JPEG or TIFF).
  • Numbered consecutively and cited in the text.
  • All tables and figures require legends.
2.6 Abbreviations
  • Define all abbreviations at first mention, e.g., magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
  • Use only the abbreviation thereafter.
  • Avoid abbreviations in the title and abstract unless universally recognized.
2.7 Supplementary Materials
  • Include a “Supplementary Materials” section after tables and figures with descriptions of each file.
  • Files are published as provided; authors are responsible for accuracy.

3. Manuscript Formatting

  • File format: Microsoft Word (DOCX).
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt.
  • Line spacing: 1.15.
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.
  • Text alignment: justified.
  • Page numbering: Arabic numerals, bottom right corner.
  • Line numbering: continuous throughout.
  • Units of measurement: SI units.

4. Revisions

  • Provide a point-by-point response to reviewers’ comments.
  • Highlight all revisions (track changes or colored text).

5. Ethical Standards

  • Include a PRISMA flow diagram for systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
  • Register review protocols in PROSPERO (recommended).
  • Provide ethics approval and informed consent for any patient-level data.

6. Plagiarism Policy

  • All manuscripts are screened using iThenticate.
  • Similarity above 20% may lead to rejection or revision.

7. Open Access and Copyright

  • IJMRMA is a fully open access journal.
  • Articles published under CC BY 4.0 license.
  • Authors retain copyright.

8. Submission Steps

  • Register or log in to the submission system.
  • Enter manuscript metadata (title, abstract, keywords, author details).
  • Upload required files: blinded manuscript, title page, figures, tables, supplementary files, and copyright form.
  • Review and approve system-generated PDF.
  • Submit the manuscript.
